Becky, at 1 point I had to resort to a very late nap, with a much shorter A in the afternoon, so we could make it until a decent bedtime.  Just a thought.  It was easier than this guessing game and fretting over A times and nap times, etc.

I agree with Kara's last post, we just had to do that too.  Just push through and do a nap as late as possible.

Let us know when he wakes (not before or you'll jinx it!!) how long he slept.  Sleep vibes coming your way.

ok so he did 1.35 so not bad at all. Now 1.20pm. Bedtime 6.30pm??? What do you think. I know that will probably mean 5.30am wake up but don't want top push too far. Maybe 6.45pm?

Personally, given his decent night and reasonable nap, I would do 6:45 - you can keep the last hour after dinner very subdued, quiet time, and then move into bedtime.  See if you can get a slightly later wake up tomorrow.

But I like to live on the wild side and have a kid that lives in OT land anyway so nothing much I do can muck it up :-)

Oh, just read about his jabs, well you will have to play that by ear then really.  He might be extra grotty and need earlier bedtime.

Asleep for 6.30pm.  That's 5hours A time then.  A better nap on a slightly longer A then?  I wouldn't push it yet and you never know cos he's a bit more rested at bedtime he may sleep in for you!

I would go for 6:30 again.  I know there's a chance for another 5:30 am again, but after vaccinations my LO is always more ready to sleep.  I'm sure you'll watch it and see, but I would be hesitant to push it today.

yes I did 6.30pm and he slept till 6.10am so pleased with that. He did cry out a couple of times in the night but nothing I had to go to. Going to repeat yesterday and do 6 hours first A and cross my fingers. He is totally random so will probably do something different but worth a try! :)

Thanks Laura. He was yawning at 9.30am ! Not quite sure if it is OT setting in or more just him adjusting to the new A times. He never yawns on 2 nap days!

Sleep begets sleep so we have this issue all the time, he naps and sleeps well and then is seems even more tired.  But it's a nicer tired, a sleepy relax-y tired rather than a crazy OT tired.

So what do you do then?  Go with early cues as they seem more tired or plod on through?
