Hehe at least you won't have to do bt tonight, Sabs!  Hw did it go?

I forgot to mention one thing about the total A time.  when DS started getting out of the EW/NW hell, he was doing 7-7 with 2h nap.  If I put him down even 5 mins later than 7, I would get EW or NW or both!  Nap time was set at 12:30.  Then, things shifted, more like 8-8, and then 9-9! With nap time still the same due to daycare.  So he was switching from long first A to long second A but keeping the same nap time!  Can you imagine?  After 12h nights, waking at 9 or later, he still went down for his nap at 12:30-12:45!!!  Nap did get shorter from 2h to 1h30 on average.

Then suddenly about 2-3 months ago, nights got shorter.  SA at bt, NW and short nights!  Now hes more or less sleeping close to 11h.  He definitely needs his nap still.  I want to scream!  Why is nap and sleep so hard?!?!

I found once K's nights were getting shorter he switched to a shorter first A.  He was just too tired.  Now, I've managed to somewhat flip it back by cutting his nap to force a shorter second A.  Sometimes works, sometimes not.

Sabs, sorry to hear about the 5am wu.  That is pretty awful.  Do you think there is anyway you can get her to do a really early BT with no nap - like in bed at 6:30?

This morning K woke at 7:30 after a long NWing.  But I think he was having a nightmares because he woke talking about bugs and spiders in the garden - um, weird at midnight.  I don't think it was routine related??  So today he fell asleep again around 1:40 and I gave him 45mins.  Fell asleep tonight at 8:15pm.  Still took him a long time to fall asleep but was at least quiet and didn't scream the and call us back into his room.  If we get another decent night, I will stick with 45mins again tomorrow.

Thanks Wendy... Yesterday he slept 1 3/4 hours and woke happy on his own. He woke at 6.05am this morning and BT was at 7pm last night which took him 30mins to go to sleep. One NW at 8.15pm.
He used to do well on set nap and BT. I'm thinking 12.30?

I'm so glad he's still in a Cot! I couldn't imagine the craziness he'd out me through if he was in a BBB. I'm dreading the change- he's really tall and chunky boy so I feel if he has another growth spurt... Oh! Don't want to even to think about it!

hey you guys started without me?!

BBB was the start of our problems here too. K is only a little older than Brock Alice and we have been here a month or two.

I am in a good mood though as we had a 13+(yes I said 13+)hr night last night from 6.45-8.05 this morning afterno nap yesterday. We also had a no nap day today as with a 8am wu it would have been too late top do a nap by the time he would have been tired. He was asleep by 6.30pm. I just hope he does a long night again or I will be up early.

Wow. That is an amazing night. I am so jealous.

so we went out last night and I told my SIL to put her in bed a little after 8pm.  She said she fell asleep at 8:30pm and needed her by her side. She woke up at 12am then at 5am. I had to bring her back to her bed at least 15times before 6:30am, when her clock changes.  So with a 1.5hour nap and a 6hour A after that, that gave us a really short night. How in the world do I get out of this cycle?

Try no nap today - super early bedtime.  If she crashes don't let her kip longer than 20 mins.  Gate at the bedroom door pronto.

(((hugs)))

Go for it, Sabs. We are holding your hand. I think she needs something to shake her out of this loop. And you have nothing to lose ;)

Gate is going to go no the door. We just need to get another one.
We were out. Meltdowns all morning. Crashed in the car at 11am, so I transferred her in her room. She woke up, cried and said she can't sleep. then fell asleep. Now what do I do? I read this too late! I am just shattered.

O.k so she is not going to nap. I hear her crying.  I have no idea what to do for the rest of the day. She slept for 15 min and it is now 11:30am.

Hey Sabs, did I read it correctly that she woke at 5 this morning and now she crashed at 3?  Try 30 min nap and normal bt?

Sabs, would u try to aim total A time at 10 h tomorrow?  It's what her body is telling right now.  There is of course a risk of bt refusal but if you havent tried it already.  Hugsss
