I agree with Wendy! When I speak to other parents (not BW parents) I find that they simply go with the flow, generally putting the kids to bed much later (10-11 pm) and considering a good night a night with 8-9 h of sleep. Many parents that I know go out with their kids in the night, till 11 pm every day during holiday. So, of course, with 8-9 h night, the 1-0 transition occurs later, when the kid can easily handle it. But in the mean time they live with an OT kid. I found that their kids are usually more flexible about the routines, but they are always OT

At least Finn is in better moods. Do you think if you shift his nap and bt later, he will at least wu a little later? On weekends, are you guys still doing shorter naps as you are out n'about?
I know when Madi naps, our nights are 10hrs max. This just really sucks, doesn't it?

Well yesterday he napped from 12:30 - 2:45 and we put him to bed at 8.  He was pleasant as pie all evening and we had a great time.  But he then woke before 6.  So yeah as his nights get shorter, he is just going to crumble.  A later bedtime isn't meaning a later wake up in this case.  Don't know.  *sigh*  Waiting for that a$$ bite.

Thanks for asking Sabs :) Things are going from bad to worse over this side :( nothing ever change. I'm still looking for the answer . I'm hoping that when I find the answer DS will turn into a high sleep needs child. Lol

Oh forgot to say that yeah, we're doing short or no nap if we go out on weekends.  He cannot seem to manage himself beyond 10 hrs though, he gets tired at his usual 6-7 then has a second wind if we keep him busy but then by 10 hrs awake he's really asking for sleep.  At the air show on Sunday he wanted in his stroller and wanted to be held and was incredibly tired by 10 hrs awake.  He crashed in his stroller for 30 mins, and this is not a stroller sleeper.  So it means we have to be careful and catch up his sleep if we do a no nap or short nap day.  Which is what yesterday's long nap was about.

Sabs I think I'd probably do a 7 pm bedtime.  Not a lot later than yesterday.

Wendy, perhaps F is now getting into the phase DS did at 23mo!  Suddenly loved sleep and did great as long as I kept the Bt on the dot!!

We did no nap again today and K went to bed at 7pm from a 7.20wu. He asked me to lay with him again and was out in the minute I agreed to stay. He had a bit of a meltdown on the way home from pg at 2.45 but soon got over it once he ate at home since he missed lunch there as was too distracted to eat.

Sabs, glad you finally got a no nap day and then EBT helped her tack on to that night. 12hrs is fab.  I find we can do 2 no nap days in a row but anymore and we start to get shorter and shorter nights.

Wendy if K had had that long nap until 2.45pm I would have had to do an 8.30 Bt for sure. With UT though K is more likely to refuse BT than EW. EW is always OT for us.

I also have friends who don't seem worried about sleep and don't make the connection that the behaviour is OT. My neice (from SIL) is 8weeks older than K and my SIL was telling me how she still takes 2 naps and I was surprised as she is 28mo, but then she said she sleeps 11pm-7am o/n. She is often OT too.

Forgot to add ours.  9h30 night!  I am dying...  I suspect the nightlight is causing this!  Took it away and he was fine!!!!  Not scared anymore!  But due to the EW, the whole day turned out to be super long!!  We managed to get another long nap in him, so we will see.

This evening, after a (late) 2h nap (and 10h night) he had a little meltdown (easily sorted out, fortunately) as he didn't want to go out from the tub. Meaning tired to me... He went down easily at bt, without calling for me. Hoping he catches up tonight...

Yesterday I stopped using the blue light and substituted with a very light white one. It was almost dark in his room. Although he slept only 10 h, I felt he slept better with less turning and tossing...We'll see tonight.

Well bt was not 7pm.  Sigh. 8pm. I was lying down with her and she kept singing, playing with her teddy and blankie.   ::) ::) I am expecting a 10hr night. I am really confused on how to do this b/c on a no nap day her night lengthen, then when she naps, her nights are short. Does this make sense?
I know i have asked this before, but can you ladies post your los routine on a nap and no nap day?

Wendy, lets hope he self regulates fast.

Grants, it will end my dear.

Koe, I hope the nightlight is your answer. Fingers crossed for you.

hope you ladies have a decent night.

Well the weird thing about F is that he's always had an early sleep phase and so he will pretty much go to bed and go to sleep no matter when we put him down.  That said, there was a brief period about a couple of months ago when I was going nuts because he was fighting bedtime, it was brutal, I even had to record it and post it on a thread here so that I could get some advice on what the heck to do.  But since then he goes to bed without issue whether it's at 6:30 or 8.  EW I have no idea but I'd guess some of it is OT and some of it is related to his lack of sleep drive.

Tonight we had a 10.45 h. Not bad. And he was really calm during the night. I think he woke at 6 and moved a little but then felt asleep again and called almost 2 h later. I really start to believe that light change was very worth.
