Well h fed well but j not so. Am going to do my best to settle without picking up but I don't know whether I should try not to feed them at all or do my 'old' way of not feeding before 3am. What do you think?

I think if you just don't feed it will be harder initially but they will make more progress quicker YK? They also may then start to take more during the day :-\ but! it's easier said than done....I know I often doubted myself at that age re hunger  and also got so tired I just fed.

You really have to go with your gut. What do you think you want to do? Do you think they need a feed or it's jut habit?

I have no idea tbh! But I think you know that from Catherine's thread ;)  How much are they taking in a day?

I fed them both. They both drank the whole btl. They're having plenty in the day though. J woke at 1.30ish and I knew he would be hungry as he'd only had 4oz at bed and 4oz at his 11am btl. H woke then too but put himself back to sleep. H then woke around 4ish so I just fed him too. I can only tackle one thing at a time I think although their nf is watered down.

Do you think 5.30am will get later once they're sleeping better generally? It's just In the long run I need them to stop disturbing o at that time. With this longer later nap bt is 7pm.

Good morning Laura!
I totally think that the morning wake up time will shift to later as they mature, are able to feed really well with both milk feeds and solids, and also drop any habitual nigh wakings.

My DD age 6 is also woken by my DS and his NWs and EWs. I feel for her but she seems to get back to sleep ok and likes te excuse toget up early too lol. Today was 5.30 and yday 5.45 which were frankly lie ins after last week.

Hugs to you! I think your two are v similar to my DS (except I only have him to deal with) so sending vibes of support and better sleep, whilst following this thread closely!

DS had a good night last night after what I'd call good naps ;and swimming lesson! He was awake 5.40 He napped 8.30-9.20 and 1.45-2.15. Bedtime was asleep 6.50. Night wakings 12.45 (fed) and 4 (fed) but resettled quickly. I'm happy to feed twice if 3.5-4 hrs apart roughly. He's cut back on the amount he takes too.

I really really hope those EWs would lengthen out but I have to be honest and tell you that with Stan they never did. He never slept past 5.30am until he was 2 and we got a Groclock. With Audrey (as I think I've already said) I kept a 5am feed until she was about 18 months old, just because I hated the EWs so much and with a 5am feed she would go back to sleep until 7. (I know you've said your boys don't, so different situation.)

So day two of self settling!
Nap 1 9am both boys down with out any sort of rubbing or whatever - H seems to have a little cry, then a loud one and by the time I get up the stair has gone off! J slept through the 40min!!!!  I woke both boys after 55mins - should've really done it sooner but I didn't want to reinforce J's waking at 40mins

Nap 2 1pm - again both boys down with very little fuss J - straight to sleep (he's going to be like O I think) H did his whinging loud cry zonk!
H woke after 40mins (yes I did say H) I popped dummy in and he went back to sleep for another 40mins at which point I got him up so he had 1hr 20mins J woke of his own accord at 1hr 30mins.

I'm pleased anyway! I'm sure both boys would've slept a bit better in the afternoon had I shortened the am nap.  Really I want them to have a nearer 12.30pm nap to enable me to do school run etc but I'll take this for now.

WRT ew - I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  I'm completely happy with a 6am wake up just not before!!

Pride comes before a fall. It's 2.15am and I haven't even been asleep  yet due to these boys.

Heidi they had reduced sugar rusks (which I know are bad btw I had a box but likely to be the last) they're milk free though so I don't know. It's just j always seems to wake around 12.30am when it's a tummy problem. Basically he filled his nappy at 8.30 and took ages to settle. H woke at 10 briefly then j again. Then j at 12.30 so of course I was determined to settle him without picking him upbut an hr later and waking h significantly so he wouldn't settle either we fed them and gave paracetamol. J still woke just after 5.30 but went back off at 6.30 when h woke. O was also up and down till nearly 9pm last night too.
