Deborah...I am so Type A too.  I like routine!  I like OliverRowland's comment...we wouldn't be here if we weren't!  We'd have the kids who slept wherever/whenever, but not through the night, LOL!

Taurus people have a need for order?  No wonder dd likes all her food separate on her tray, LOL!

Well, our A times today have been 1.5hrs, 2hrs, and 3hrs (two 2-hr naps) and she's TIRED.  Her teeth are also bugging her big time.  DH and I are going to wear earplugs tommorrow.  ;D

Hopefully today got her caught up.  My Mom flies in tomorrow and my BF flies in Tuesday for 5 days.  Wish us luck on the OS front!

Hey vicnpaul & welcome to the boards! I would post your routine & questions in the naps forum. This thread is for the 2-1 swtich & your lo is waaay to young for that :). Click on the "new topic" button & someone will reply soon!

MommaHolmes - we also have a very out of tune piano at home! We've moved about 3 times with it & not once has it been tuned (in fact it has not been tuned since I bought it almost 15yrs ago). The girls love it thou. If I am running out of ideas, I pop the lid up & they are off banging on it ;D. Do you play yourself?

Used to play and write as a teenager and have lived under the illusion that as soon as I got my own piano I would pick it up again... I haven't! Me & Ol occasionally bang on it and I use the excuse that it's out of tune to explain why I don't play  :-[

We're doing.... OK I think. Had two 2 nap days in a row and he's had two much better night's sleep as a consequence. Still had a lot of NW last night (9:30, 12:15, 12:45 for half an hour) but as he'd fallen asleep by 17:40 and then slept from last NW to 6:20, that's still 12 hours sleep! I'm hoping if I try and be a bit more flexible about dropping in some two nap days when I can (rather trying to nail a 1 nap schedule and stick to it... yep, I'm a Taurean too!) then things might settle down... I can hope!

Well, I forgot to mention earlier that yesterdays 45 min nap WAS enough, she slept through last night for the first time in a week (10 hr night of sleep, 1 hr of dozing, playing, talking when she woke LOL).  Another 45-60min nap today (at daycare, but certain it wasn't more than 1 hr) and played a fair bit before bed tonight, so will be interesting to see how tonight goes!

Stacy, geeze---getting lots of sleep over there!
we just seem to be stuck on these 11hrs nights---which are fine, but he needs then atl east 2hrs of naps (which the last few days havn't been)
so a few shorter nap days and no extra night sleep---and he is grumpy
I am trying a 11:30 nap today after a 6:15 wake (if he makes it that long),  giving two naps doesn't seem to get him catught-up anymore
its 7:30 and he is already driving me crazy.

Do ew come with the 2-1 switch transition?  ds is all over the place in the mornings!  He wakes somewhere b/w 5:30-6:15 . The earlier the more I get anxious re 1 nap as that is too much A time I think.  BUT he makes it thru!  What I am confused about is when I offer 2 naps he gets less sleep during the day...how is that a catch up day?!  We have had an occ nw but they seem more like nightmares as he screams out and is easily settled with a paci and hand on his back.  not even sure he is fully awake.
Did I mention that i am sick of this transition already?!  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I know Layla mentioned this to me before, but I am wondering whether Isabella was more bored than tired sometimes and her A times have been too short.......watch this space!

EW have been a big part of our lives since starting this transition, but it depends on what time he goes to sleep as to whether I count it as EW.

What's your schedule like these days OliverRowland? Interesting that 2 naps means less day sleep - is that cos you're waking him or does he just sleep less? I would have thought 2 naps is helpful if it keeps the A times down in between but if he's not sleeping as well, maybe you need to tweak your routine?

aaaargh!
so I offered the earlier nap and it was still short!

today
wake 6:15, out of crib at 6:50
nap windown at 11:30, in crib for 11:40----now hes awake at 1:25, so 1hr40min or so of sleep. Not bad but not long enough considering only 11hr nights right now,
I am thinking asleep before 7 tonight. blah  :P

I'm finding early bedtimes are going down very well in this house at the moment. It's a bit rubbish for DH as he's not getting to see him most eves but Ollie's only taken 20 mins to get to sleep the past two nights and both times he's been asleep before 6pm. This morning it didn't mean an EW and I'm hoping that he will do similar tomorrow. Does Noah always wake early if you do an early bedtime Deb?

Just watch, I'll be back on here tomorrow complaining that I've been up since 4:30  ::)
