Quiet time here is usually watching toy Story or similar. Since dropping the nap started Dec has been far more up for sitting quietly and watching a dvd. he's doing so right now.

D slept till 6.30 this morning and seems tired still, so I may take him for a drive later if i think he needs a little sleep. Then at around 5pm I'm off duty!

Hope your weekends all go well, speak to you soonxx

thanks.

It is 7:15am and she is still sleeping. 7:30am will be 12 hrs. She had one brief waking at 5am saying her nose was stuffed. Not sure if she is sleeping b/c of the cold or no nap.   ???

what do I do today? I mean, she has never done 3 no nap days in a row.

DS had a EW at 7 (9.45 h after 9.15 bt),and went back to sleep at 7.45.I fell asleep too and at 9 woke and he was still sleeping! A miracle! :)
However, today he seems more tired than yesterday and when he had a 10h night. boh??

Sabs, I would watch her and if she seems fine after a 12h night I wouldn't do nap. Otherwise, if she's tired, i would try a short nap (45 min-1 h)

Quiet time here is also usually watching TV together, or reading a book or doing some puzzles. After 5 days of no nap we had a 5:45 wake up today for DD. I am not sure if it was because of the early morning cold (we are in spring here so days are warm but early morning is cold) or OT creeping up.

But good news is she napped today! I did an early nap of 12:45, I was able to take her in early cos DH was watching DS. She slept easily and slept from 1:10 - 2:25ish when she woke on her own and came downstairs!!

Then I did in bed at 7:30 (which is what I have always done, and she usually takes about 30 mins to fall asleep). Let's see how long she sleeps for tonight and what happens tomorrow.

Sabs, when my DD was your LO's age, just a few months ago the max she could go was 3 days of no napping. Then I found that I had to force a nap on the 4th day and often taking her in earlier than the usual nap time (if you have one nowadays!) seemed to work better. And I let her sleep up to a max of 1.5 hrs. But of course each LO is different.

The thing I struggle with is since I have to lie with her to get any sort of nap, during the week I can only really do that with her after DS goes for his pm nap. But that is often too late for DD's nap. Oh well..

Consmummy, enjoy!!

Sabs, hope you have a napping day today and that Alyssa doesn't get sick!

Enjoy your weekends everyone

I'd go for a no nap day again, Sabs. Sounds like she's tacking the sleep on to her nighttime, which is great.

Think Dec is under the weather or teething his last molars, he's asleep in his bed. yesterday woke at 7.40am, asleep again by 12.15 till 1.40, bedtime at 7.15. Today woke at 6.30, has been a tired mess all morning and is now asleep again from 1pm. Could also be a growth spurt, maybe?

We're back to cutting the nap.  Man this is sooo much fun.  Today is going to be the first day of a shorter nap, fasten your seat belts.
The tweaking never stops!

Sabs, play it by ear since she has a cold.  Her body seems to know how to tack now which is great!  If u worry about too many no nap days, try 15 mins earlier bt.

Barbara, wow u had a good night!

Shresmummy, I also wonder if it's the morning chills.  Just never know

We had 11h STTN!!  Yay.  We have to go out later and put him down for nap at 1:30, he fell asleep in 10 mins.  Only just heard a cough and it's now 4:20!  2h40 and still sleeping!  I am sure it will bite us tonight but at least we can go to this party and have some fun seeing people!!

Hi Koe! Your DS seems to have a lot of sleep today! Happy for you! :D
F seemed very tired at 1 pm already,  ??? so we put him down at 2 and at 4 he was still in deep sleep when DH woke him.
We are at the sea for the last sunny and warm weekend here. We were supid enough to forget his lovely with the paci... ::) I was very scared... :-\ I bought a new paci and attached it on another bear and it seemed working, at least for the nap. Hoping the same for tonight! ::)

Barbara, glad your lo went back to sleep.

shresmummy, so happy she napped for you.
I too have to either lie with her now or sit with her on the sofa for her to take a nap and this has to happen when Alyssa is napping. Just a few months ago she would tell me she wanted to nap. Now she is Miss. Independent and thinks she doesn't need the sleep. Anyhow, we are going out in the afternoon, so if she may take a snooze in the car. I can't resort to car naps b/c Alyssa is napping. So frustrating.  >:( I feel like it is a daily power struggle with naps.

Even though she has a cold, she seems to be doing well. It is amazing how much better her moods have been over the last two days due to the longer nights. Hope I didn't jinx myself.  :-X

If she does a no nap again today, I think I may have to force a nap tomorrow. I fear Ot creeping in and I don't want an EW.

WEndy, are you cutting to 2hrs now?

Koe, yay for the STTN.

Oh yeah, Alyssa did get her cold. She just woke up 45mins into her nap. Gee.

Quick update.  Had a blast at the party although either DH or I hd to be with DS as he's a bit sensitive to crowds (strangers).  He was wide awake the whole ride back home and we still had to do the whole bt routine with stories, etc!!  Arghhhhh!  So he's asleep at 11:10  :(  well fx for tonight!  Must go to bed myself, too...

good luck.

I put Madi close to her usual bt but my patience was running thin as I had to address Alyssa whose cold has turned her into a very cranky girl.

Fingers crossed tonight.
